Meet Two Visionary Folk Artists at the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery
Join in the artistic fun as the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art welcomes celebrated Florida potter Martin Cushman for an artist talk, demonstration, and pop up show! Hosted at the Jeanine Taylor Gallery, this one-of-a-kind event invites you to meet this talented artist and see his stunning work.
Martin Cushman is renowned for his unique style with themes and subjects that range from elegant blue and white swamp scenes to quirky Florida gators sporting Mickey Mouse ears. Flamingos, owls, and water birds adorn trees draped in Spanish moss and moonlight in his incredible creations, and mischievous bears and lounging alligators are also frequent subjects. You can hear this singular artist speak and discuss his creative process, and Cushman will be accompanied by his longtime friend and fellow artist, Kaye Burlason. Burlason has earned the nickname Basket Granny for her advanced age and intricately woven pine needle baskets reminiscent of Old Florida. Burlason weaves wall hangings, earrings, wish baskets, sea creatures and so much more. It’s sure to be a folk art event unlike any other, so be sure to attend the celebration at the Jeanine Taylor Gallery!
At Pure Living Apartments in Heathrow, Florida, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
