Get Pumped to See Passafire, a Reggae Sensation, Perform Live at The Social
Passafire is an American progressive rock and reggae group, formed in 2003 by students of Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
Originally formed of guitar and vocalist Ted Browne, drummer Nick Kubley, bassist Tom Heet, and keyboardist Adam Willis, Passafire released their debut album “PASSAFIRE” in 2006. After the release Heet was replaced by bassist and vocalist Will Kubley, who recorded on the band’s sophomore album “Submersible” in 2007. The album was issued by the fellow rock-reggae group Pepper’s imprint label LAW, and like its predecessor was noted for its progressive, punchy and novel approach to rock-reggae.
The band’s fourth full-length “Start From Scratch” arrived in 2011, was produced by Paul Leary, and was issued on Passafire’s own imprint Flame Guy Records. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart and led to the band signing with the well-respected reggae label Easy Star. The band’s debut on Easy Star, “Vines”, was released in 2013 and once again topped the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart. Subsequently Passafire toured alongside Slightly Stoopid and released the EP “Interval” in 2015.
